Review Schema
Markup for ratings and reviews, including who wrote them. It feeds the star ratings in search results, and gives an assistant something concrete to cite about your reputation.
Related terms
Neural Network
A system of simple connected units, loosely inspired by the brain, that learns patterns from examples rather than following rules somebody wrote. Nearly all modern AI is built on one.
Well-Known URI
A standard location, always under /.well-known/, where machines look for information about a site — security contacts, API catalogues, agent details. Putting files there means they can be found without being linked.
Google-Extended
The robots.txt setting that controls whether Google may use your content for Gemini and AI Overviews. It is separate from ordinary Google Search, so you can allow one and refuse the other.
Author Authority
The weight given to content because of who wrote it. Advice attributed to a named person with a real background is treated very differently from advice signed by a company or by nobody.
Applebot-Extended
Apple’s equivalent, governing whether your content feeds Apple Intelligence. Ordinary Applebot, which powers Siri and Spotlight, is controlled separately.
Rich Result
A search listing with something extra — stars, prices, an image, an FAQ dropdown. Rich results come from structured data, and they take up more of the screen than a plain blue link.
