Flood Attack

Definition: A DDoS attack that inundates a target with a high volume of traffic, consuming bandwidth or system resources to the point of failure.

Example: During a SYN flood attack, an attacker might send 500,000 SYN packets per second to a web server. The server attempts to respond to each request, exhausting its resources and becoming unresponsive to legitimate traffic.
